The Department of Education & Skills has published Circular Letter 0021/2021 Coronavirus (COVID-19) Arrangements for Teachers and SNAs employed in recognised Primary and Post Primary schools.
This circular replaces Circular letter 0049/2020 and Information Notes TC 007/2021, TC 0008/2021, TC 0009/21, TC 0010/2021 and TC 0011/2021.
The purpose of this circular is to advise Boards of the leave and working arrangements for employees on the full re-opening of post-primary schools on Monday, 12th April 2021. The circular letter has a useful Employer’s Guide at Chapter 5 to guide schools through the various scenarios that may arise when dealing with these arrangements.
The general principles to apply to the management of COVID-19 include the safety and welfare of employees and the minimisation of the impact on teaching and learning.
The provisions of Circular 0021/2021 apply in the main to Clerical Officers/Caretakers employed under the 1978/79 Scheme in primary and post-primary schools, and Secretaries and Caretakers in Department-approved posts in Community and Comprehensive schools. However, the method for the recording of leave or working remotely may differ from that set out in Circular 0021/2021 and the usual procedures should be followed.

DE Information Note TC 0013/2021 sets out the working arrangements for:
