The appointment procedures for the appointment of SNAs are as set out in DES CL 51/2019.

This circular supersedes all previous circulars, memoranda, rules and regulations in relation to the recruitment and appointment procedures for SNAs. The procedures as outlined comprise:

Pay

Current salaries payable to Special Needs Assistants as and from 1 January 2020 are set out in CL 08/2023.

SNAs are paid fortnightly by the Department of Education and Skills.
