Our school has purchased a minibus. How do we go about taxing and insuring this vehicle?

Under State indemnity School vehicles are not required to carry an insurance disc as issued by conventional insurance companies. SCA-AF-01: State indemnity confirmation: DSA vehicle (State indemnity motor disc) is provided in lieu of a conventional insurance disc and confirms all appropriate indemnity arrangements. It should be placed in each vehicle owned by your school and referred to in the case of an accident or if requested by An Garda Síochána. In addition, please refer to Section q) for information on taxing school owned vehicles. Please note there is no requirement to contact the State Claims Agency in relation to changes to a school’s fleet. All changes to a school’s fleet will be covered under State Indemnity provided these changes have been approved by school management.
