Reminder to register before 12 noon today for ACCS Special Education Needs Zoom Webinar “Leading SEN in Covid Times” on Thursday 15th October, 2020 from 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.

Objectives:

The aim of the day is to inform and support schools in providing quality inclusive education for all students in line with developments in the area of Special Education and to share school experiences in blended learning during and since school buildings closed in March 2020.

Content Includes:

  • Using assistive technology in school to support learning in the classroom and remotely with a focus on building skills and independence in the learner.

  • SEN experience during Covid times. The impact on the reluctant and special learner. The anxiety evident in schools as special spaces have been dismantled and students are grappling with new structures. The place of team teaching and the role of subject teacher as an SEN teacher.

  • SEN Resources – an up-to-date list for schools.

  • Question & answer session.

Who should attend?

The seminar is aimed at Principals, Deputy Principals and Special Needs Coordinators involved in Special Education Needs.

Participant Registration:

Participants are required to register for this event by completing the attached registration form and emailing to ediver@accs.ie. A zoom link will be emailed to registered participants.  

N.B. An email address for each participant is required in advance of this webinar. The participant’s email address will be forwarded to our Presenter Deirdre Madden who will then send an email with relevant links to SEN assistive technology sites and resources. During the session with Deirdre participants will be asked to access these links using their own device/mobile phone.
