State Claims Agency Guidance: 1. Reporting of COVID-19 related incidents to the SCA. 2. Use of third-party premises and temporary structures.

1. Reporting of COVID-19 related incidents to the SCA.

Community and Comprehensive Schools are statutorily required under the National Treasury Management Agency (Amendment) Act, 2000 to report all incidents to the State Claims Agency (SCA), including those arising from COVID-19 as outlined in the attached guidance document which also sets out the type of COVID-19 incidents which should be reported and to whom reporting applies.

For your convenience, page two of the attached guidance document contains an interactive NIRF which schools can complete and email to stateclaims@ntma.ie for inputting.

The SCA continue to respond to COVID-19 risk management matters, should your school have any further queries or require any support, please contact the Enterprise Risk Management Section of the SCA via stateclaims@ntma.ie.

2. Use of third-party premises and temporary structures.

The State Claims Agency (SCA) recognises that school’s may need to use other third party-owned locations such as hotels, community halls and/or use temporary structures such as marquees to expand their capacity and respond to requirements of the Government’s Return to Work Safely Protocol COVID-19 and Resilience and Recovery 2020-2021: Plan for Living with COVID-19.

The attached State Indemnity Guidance sets out the scope of cover and risk management considerations for use of these premises/structures. The guidance contains practical risk management considerations and template agreements to streamline the process. This guidance can be used during the pandemic and when business returns to normal.
