The Department of Education has asked for our assistance in obtaining data on the provision of the Admission to Schools Act that permits schools to include a priority in their admission criteria based on a student’s connection to a school by virtue of a parent or grandparent having previously attended the school when deciding on an application for admission to that school subject to a limit of 25% on the number of places that can be filled by a school using this criterion.

We continue to await updated guidance from the Department on issues such as parent teacher meetings, school trips, extracurricular activities etc. Until updates are received the guidance in place from September’s return to school applies.

Many thanks
