REMINDER: Invitation to Student Voice Webinar - Thursday 7th October, 4.00p.m. - 5.00p.m.

Dear Colleagues,

Over the past while, ACCS has received many queries from schools seeking support in embedding meaningful Student Voice work in their school communities. Currently ACCS, in partnership with the NCCA, is working with a small number of schools leading out in this work.

Thursday 7th October from 4.00p.m. – 5.00p.m., we have scheduled a Check and Connect webinar for any schools who may wish to participate in a planning session for work in this area during this academic year.  We are interested in hearing from schools which are already engaged in the SV project about their plans going forward and from new schools/returning schools to the project.

Domnall Fleming (UCC) and Gerard O’ Sullivan (NCCA) will be facilitating the session on Thursday afternoon and will share the different perspectives on developing sustainable SV practices in schools within the Lundy model. Areas for consideration will include voice in a representative space, voice in the classroom, the place of voice in education for sustainable development and voice in curriculum reform. We will be introducing some ideas for Irish schools from recent OECD engagement and will look at how this work links to the Parent and Student Charter currently going through legislation stages.

Please forward this email to any colleagues who are interested in developing such practices and embedding Student Voice in your school.
