REMINDER: ACCS Invitation to attend an ACCS Open Forum session on the topic of timetabling Junior Cycle Wellbeing for 2022/23 school year on Friday 27th May from 9.15am - 11.00am

Invitation for Chairpersons, Principals, Deputy Principals, Wellbeing Coordinators, and personnel engaged in planning the timetable to attend an ACCS Open Forum session on the topic of timetabling Junior Cycle Wellbeing for 2022/23 school year.

ACCS is hosting a webinar on Friday 27th May from 9.15am until 11.00am for schools currently engaged in timetabling this important area of learning. The webinar will include informal presentations from schools about various aspects of the planning process in which they engaged when developing the school’s programme. These presentations will be followed by a Q&A session facilitated by Annette Honan, NCCA. Annette has been hugely involved in leading out on the development of the original and the 2021 updated NCCA Wellbeing Guidelines which are available at the following link: https://ncca.ie/media/5062/updated-guidelines-2021_en.pdf

We will use this webinar as an opportunity to discuss best practice in relation to identifying student needs, timetabling the short courses, developing units of learning and exploring the various rationales considered by schools when including different topics in the school programme.

Over the past few weeks, some schools have posed questions to ACCS about the mechanics of timetabling wellbeing across the three years at Junior Cycle. We will include these questions in the Q&A session along with ones posed on the day. Also, we invite schools to send any other questions to Áine O’Sullivan at aosullivan@accs.ie in advance of the webinar on Friday 27th May.
