Invitation for Teachers engaged in Student Voice work in schools to attend ACCS Student Voice Webinar March 2nd from 1pm–3pm: "What helps students in their learning… A professional reflection exercise".
On Thursday 9th December, ACCS hosted a webinar with staff and students from schools across the country and we explored the topic: “What helps students in their learning?” During that webinar, the young people told us a great deal about their experiences in classrooms and shared their ideas with us about how these experiences could be enhanced. We attach a document which summarises some of this feedback and plan to use this as a springboard for discussions with teachers in our next webinar.
The next webinar in this series is scheduled for Wednesday, March 2nd from 1pm-3pm. This will be facilitated by Gerard O’Sullivan (NCCA) and Ger Halbert along with Dr Domnall Fleming (UCC) and Áine O'Sullivan (ACCS). The format will include a guided conversation/panel discussion followed by school conversations in break out rooms.
The webinar will give practitioners an opportunity to explore the key messages in the feedback offered by students at the previous webinar. This is a CPD event for teachers only and is presented as a professional reflection exercise for teachers already engaged in Student Voice work in schools. The purpose of this webinar is for the practitioners to reach a shared understanding of the perspectives of students. The focus is on Lundy’s “audience and influence” quadrants and the outcomes of the webinar can be shared with students when practitioners return to school. As part of the Student Voice series, we plan to work with the students again in the final term of this school year.
