Leadership & Management Post of Responsibility
Objectives:
Circular 0003/18 sets out a leadership and management framework for posts in recognised post-primary schools in line with best practice as set out in ‘LAOS 2016 – A Quality Framework for Post-Primary Schools’. It provides detail on the revised processes relating to the appointment of Assistant Principal and Programme Coordinator Posts (API & APII), including reference to posts in Self-Financing Adult Education Programmes. Schools will have vacancies for API and APII posts in the coming year and it essential that anyone involved in the appointment process is fully aware of the processes to be followed. This In-Service will cover both the consultation and appointment process to a post of responsibility in a school in 2021/2022.

Relevant processes as set out in Circular 0003/18 in line with LAOS 2016 with specific reference to the review of needs and priorities, advertising, interviewing and the appeals procedure.
Audience: Principals, Trustee Nominees on Selection Boards for Leadership and Management posts and Independent Panel Members.
