Preparations for Storm Hannah

The message below has been received from the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government to alert School Managers of the current Weather Alerts and necessary preparation for Storm Hannah.

The recommended preparations are outlined in the attached document Preparations for Storm Hannah (26 April 2019).

Please see the attached update from the D/Housing, Planning and Local Government on current Weather Alerts in place and preparations for Storm Hannah.

As you know, Met Eireann has since issued a Status Red wind warning for County Clare. As always in such circumstances, please remind principals and other school managers in the affected areas to check buildings, grounds and school facilities for storm damage before reopening next week.

Again as always in such circumstances, school managers should keep themselves appraised of developments, which may change as the storm front passes overnight.

Tom Deegan, Principal Officer, Schools Division.
