Re: Changes to the Career Break Scheme for Teachers - 2019/20 School Year
The Department of Education and Skills has issued the attached ‘Changes to the Career break Scheme for Teachers’ Info Note to Schools. The central point of the Info note is:
“A teacher who is on a Career Break may now be employed in a substitute capacity only, without the restrictions imposed in the Career Break Scheme as contained in Chapter 7 (Paragraph 8.1) of Circular 54/2019”. The restrictions refer to the number of hours a teacher on career break can be employed as a substitute teacher”.
