Reminder: ACCS Invitation to Governance in Schools Webinars on 20th October & 27th October 2022 from 7.00 p.m. - 8.30 p.m.

ACCS is pleased to invite members of all Boards of Management to two online webinars scheduled during October 2022. These webinars are particularly relevant to new Boards of Management and newly appointed Board of Management members.

ACCS Governance in Schools Webinar – Health & Safety in Schools & Data Protection - Thursday 20th October 2022, 7.00 p.m. – 8.30 p.m.
This webinar will provide the opportunity for Principals, Secretaries Board of Management, Chairpersons of the Board of Management and Board of Management Members to discuss the following topics:

·     Health & Safety in Schools. ACCS is delighted that personnel from the State Claims Agency will be presenting on this topic.

·     Data Protection. This topic will be facilitated by ACCS Data Protection & Education Legal Advisor, Hilary Treacy .

Participants will be given an opportunity to pose questions and contribute to the discussion during all of the presentations.

ACCS Governance in Schools Webinar – Human Resources – Board of Management’s Responsibilities - Thursday 27th October 2022, 7.00 p.m. – 8.30 p.m. 
This webinar will provide the opportunity for Principals, Secretaries Board of Management, Chairpersons of the Board of Management and Board of Management Members to discuss the following topic:

·     Human Resources - Governance in Schools: The Board of Management’s Responsibilities. This topic will be facilitated by ACCS Director of HR, Anne Marie Dillon.

Participants will be given an opportunity to pose questions and contribute to the discussion during the presentations.

A third webinar which will focus particularly on the roles and relationships between the Chairperson and the Principal in the context of Board of Management and School Governance is scheduled for Tuesday 8th November. Details for this event will be issued to schools later in the month. 

The Financial Support Service Unit (FSSU) will be facilitating an event for all C&C schools on the role and function of the Finance Sub-Committee in January 2023. Details for this event will issue in early 2023. 

These online events are organised in addition to the Individual Board of Management Training which is facilitated at individual school level. Any Board seeking this training for its members should contact Sarahlynn Byrne sbyrne@accs.ie in ACCS Head Office.
