1. One Day Conference for Principals, Deputy Principals and non-conflicted Chairpersons on the Additional Deputy Principal Appointments in Schools. The Mullingar Park Hotel, Co. Westmeath, Thursday, January 19th, 2017, 9.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m.
Budget 2017 made the following provision for an additional Deputy Principal:
ACCS estimates that thirty one ACCS schools will be able to appoint one additional Deputy Principal and five of our schools will be able to appoint two additional Deputy Principals for September 1, 2017.
These new positions are pivotal for the Management Team in these schools and school management needs to plan for these appointments well in advance of the next academic year.
In this regard ACCS is organising the above one day conference. The topics that will be discussed include developing a vision for the new leadership team, dealing with relationships within the expanded team, the new role of the Board of Management in the appointment process and an outline of a timeframe for completion of the process through competency based recruitment.
2. Competency Based Recruitment and Selection Process for Principals and Deputy Principals
Clarion Hotel, Liffey Valley, Dublin 22, Thursday, February 16th, 2017, 9.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m.
Woodlands House Hotel, Adare, Co. Limerick, Wednesday, March 1st, 2017, 9.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m.
Mullingar Park Hotel, Co. Westmeath, Monday, March 6th, 2017, 9.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m.
The above CPD has now been rescheduled so that Selection Committees can be trained in time for the additional Deputy Principal(s) appointment interviews.
The revised dates are detailed above. ACCS has decided to organise this CPD on a regional basis since numbers are limited for optimum delivery.
Please note that the Competency Based Recruitment and Selection Process for Principals and Deputy Principals CPD organised for April 26 and April 28, 2017 has now been cancelled.
